Why It’s Important
As of April 21st 2015, your site should be optimized for mobile access. If it isn’t, your website is at risk of sliding down the slippery slope to nowheresville in search results due to Googles new ‘Mobile Friendly’ updates. Responsive web design is becoming more important as the amount of mobile traffic now accounts for more than half of total internet traffic.[13] This trend is so prevalent that Google has begun to boost the ratings of sites that are mobile friendly if the search was made from a mobile device. [14] This has the net effect of penalizing sites that are not mobile friendly.
